Queen of Hearts was a huge undertaking. When I made the bag my manic depression was terrible. I was going through a severe depressive phase. So...I work, create and engage is all beauty. The bag took me about six weeks to complete. The fringe was the most difficult because I hadn't figured a way to not have the thread become entangled with the already completed fringe.
I still have great difficulty with fringe. It's difficult to see on this bag but the fringe is loaded with cloisonne round beads. Each fringe has a little bell on the end and the entire bag is very heavy. I made the strap long so it can be worn on the shoulder and a credit card or make up and drivers license will fit in the bag easily.
I wish I had made a thicker strap to balance the bag. The design is mine and I loved doing the entire piece. It feels smooth and silky to the touch. As with any art form all senses including our sixth sense are constantly engaged. What a phenomenal journey.
