This piece took me six months to complete. I tried many times to work it in the peyote stitch but was unable to do so. It was one of my most difficult undertakings, but I am not easily persuaded to give up.
Celtic knots are an ancient symbol and for me reflect the infinity of the life and death cycle. Life and death are intertwined awakenings.
I finally tried the comanche stitch and succeeded. My friend Lili placed it up against my back door window so the light would shine through the beads adding brilliance to the piece. The book in which I found the original pattern was called Design Originals by Suzzane McNeil. I found the picture in that book which was beaded by Debra Berg.
